On Friday, July 8, 2022, Mr Jean-Claude Kassi BROU, new Governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), took an oath before the President of the Council of Ministers of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA), Mr Sani YAYA, Minister of the Economy and Finance of the Togolese Republic pursuant to the provisions of Article 57 of the Statute of the Central Bank.

In accordance with article 6 of the Annex to the Convention governing the WAMU Banking Commission, Mr BROU, in his capacity as Governor of the BCEAO, shall chair the Banking Commission.
